【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftensilepropertiesofplasticsintheformofthinsheeting,includingfilm(lessthan1.0mm(0.04in.)inthickness).Note1—Filmhasbeenarbitrarilydefinedassheetinghavingnominalthicknessnotgreaterthan0.25mm(0.010in.).Note2—Tensilepropertiesofplastics1.0mm(0.04in.)orgreaterinthicknessshallbedeterminedaccordingtoTestMethodD638.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtotestallplasticswithinthethicknessrangedescribedandthecapacityofthemachineemployed.1.2.1StaticWeighing,Constant-Rate-of-GripSeparationTest—Thistestmethodemploysaconstantrateofseparationofthegripsholdingtheendsofthetestspecimen.Specimenextensionmaybemeasuredinthesetestmethodsbygripseparation,extensionindicators,ordisplacementofgagemarks.Aprocedurefordeterminingthetensilemodulusofelasticityisincludedatonestrainrate.Note3—Themodulusdeterminationisgenerallybasedontheuseofgripseparationasameasureofextension;however,thedesirabilityofusingextensometers,asdescribedin5.2,isrecognizedandprovisionfortheuseofsuchinstrumentationisincorporatedintheprocedure.Testdataobtainedbythistestmethodisrelevantandappropriateforuseinengineeringdesign.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note4—ThistestmethodissimilartoISO527-3,butisnotconsideredtechnicallyequivalent.ISO527-3allowsforadditionalspecimenconfigurations,specifiesdifferenttestspeeds,andrequiresanextensometerorgagemarksonthespecimen.
