【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardappliestoalloperationswithfissilematerialsoutsidethecoreofanoperationalnuclearreactorandincludesthemanufacture,processing,handling,storageandmovementoffissilematerials.Itisconcernedwiththelimitationsthathavetobeimposedonnuclearprocessesandequipmentbecausethematerialspossessuniquenuclearpropertieswhichcansupportnuclearchainreactions.Thisstandardisalsoapplicabletotheuseoffissilematerialsinanexperimentalsub-criticalnuclearplantwhere,althoughthenuclearreactivityapproachesthecriticalstate,thesematerialsarenotprovidedwiththeshieldingandcontrolsystemsassociatedwithanuclearreactorandwhicharedesignedtoensureitssafeoperation.Thisstandarddoesnotreplaceanypartoftheregulations,standardsandcodesofpracticewhichgoverntheoveralloperationofanuclearprocess,butsupplementsthem.Itstatesthefactorsandtechnicalcriteriawhichformthebasisonwhichtheproceduresrelatingtocriticalitysafetyshouldbeestablished.Itdoesnotcoverdetailsofequipment,designoroperationalprocedures,nordoesitrefertotheeffectsofionizingradiationsonmanormaterialsortosourcesofsuchradiations,eithernaturalorasaresultofnuclearchainreactions.Thisstandarddoesnotapplytofissilematerialsthatarecontainedwithinthecoreofanuclearreactor,whichisgovernedbyappropriatenationalandinternationalregulations.Itis,however,applicabletotheprocesswherebyfissilematerialsaretransferredtoorfromanuclearreactororstorednearit.
