【摘要】:Determinationofthecolorofpetroleumproductsisusedmainlyformanufacturingcontrolpurposesandisanimportantqualitycharacteristic,sincecolorisreadilyobservedbytheuseroftheproduct.Insomecases,thecolormayserveasanindicationofthedegreeofrefinementofthematerial.Whenthecolorrangeofaparticularproductisknown,avariationoutsidetheestablishedrangemayindicatepossiblecontaminationwithanotherproduct.However,colorisnotalwaysareliableguidetoproductqualityandshouldnotbeusedindiscriminatelyinproductspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthevisualdeterminationofthecolorofawidevarietyofpetroleumproducts,suchaslubricatingoils,heatingoils,dieselfueloils,andpetroleumwaxes.Note18212;TestMethodD156isapplicabletorefinedproductsthathaveanASTMcolorlighterthan0.5.IPMethod17includesaprocedureformeasuringthecolorofundyed,refinedproductssuchasgasoline,whitespirit,andkerosinebycomparisonwithaseriesofIPStandardglasses.Italsoincludesaprocedurebywhichpetroleumproducts,exceptblackoilsandbitumens,maybemeasuredfortintanddepthofcolorintermsofLovibondunitsbyaseriesofred,yellow,andblueglasses.1.2Thistestmethodreportsresultsspecifictothetestmethodandrecordedasx201C;ASTMColor.x201D;1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
